More Details

Acne can be found on virtually any part of the body, except for the bottoms of our feet and the palms of our hands, because there are no oil glands or hair follicles in these places on our body. Acne lesions are formed in the dermis layer of the skin (middle layer), by pilosebaceous units, which are in turn caused by microscopic sebaceous glands (located in the skin). These glands secrete oil matter, or sebum, for the purpose of lubricating skin and hair. The reason most acne legions appear on the face is because there are more sebaceous there than on any other place of our bodies. The results of acne are legions of whiteheads or blackheads, which can get pretty painful and become uncomfortable with regards to your appearance.

Stopping Acne

There is a multitude of remedies for curing acne. Some methods are effective and some are not so effective, it all depends on your skin type. Some methods are quite expensive. If you visit your doctor, you will surely get a prescription for a cream or ointment, which may or may not get rid of the problem. The ingredients in these prescriptions contain harmful chemicals that are not good for your skin. They are completely man-made (you won’t find one natural ingredient in them), and while they may help your acne, there is a good chance they will also do some long-term damage to your skin that will become evident some years later.

There are quite a few types of skin treatments out there that you may or may not have seen advertised on TV, or through other types of media. These also are pretty bad for your skin, although they are usually effective against acne, they also usually get quite expensive.

There are also natural acne remedies. Natural acne remedies that don’t work for some may work for others, so if you decide to try this avenue don’t give up if the initial natural acne remedy you try doesn’t work. While it’s not the easiest task in the world to find a natural acne remedy that works, with rare exceptions, you can rest easy knowing that you won’t be hurting your body (inside or outside) if you use one.
